Giovanna Perfumo worked with The Hispanic Assistance and Bilingual Language Access (HABLA) project in Columbia, SC where she was the communication liaison between workers in the Department of Social Services and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) clients throughout the 46 counties across South Carolina. Upon moving to D.C., Giovanna, worked for Ashoka as the Latin American Summer Associate before joining the Fuentes Strategies team. There, she focused on editing the platform, “Generación Cambio”, as well as identifying and structuring engagement strategies for the rest of the network in Latin America. During her time with Ashoka, she also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives in the office of Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-2). There, she focused on researching and assisting the legislative staff in preparation for Congressional hearings, with a particular focus on Foreign Affair committees. Giovanna is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she was among the first group of women to establish the Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta. In addition, she pursuing her education in Paris to further her French studies in cinema and international economy in the European Union.
